		<description>it&#039;s not the dither checkbox ... i had it turned on all the time and i still have stripes when i make gradient - 20 lines of code which can make all the gradients in photoshop perfect

i am more apple hater then lover  but steve was right ... it&#039;s just adobe lazy staff

i am going to write (copy yours) gradient generator, thx for the research dude</description>

There is a reason for it. For some color combinations, very long gradients generate lines of color that are clearly visible horizontally. The Dithering helps account for this undesired look by ensuring some horizontal variation.</description>
